COMMUNITY IMPACT PARTNERS

The United Way of Putnam County partners with local nonprofits to solve our community's greatest challenges by funding important programs and services carried out by the following partner agencies.

Beyond Homeless's mission is to empower the homeless of the Putnam County area to become self-sufficient and work to prevent homelessness among our neighbors.

Ensuring that every child in Putnam County up to age five will have books, his/her own personal books, regardless of the family’s income.

THE CASTLE ARTS

The Castle partners with teachers in Putnam County, IN to invigorate the curriculum through arts-integration and project-based learning that encourages collaboration and creative problem-solving, and equipping children with 21st Century skills.

Johnson Nichols performs comprehensive healthcare services to children and families living in Putnam County. Programs include family planning, the WIC program, pregnancy testing, free immunizations and helping families break free from addictions like smoking.

Dedicated to mental health awareness & improving the quality of life of those impacted by mental illness through advocacy, education, collaboration, support & prevention. Programs include divorce care for kids & parents, Clothe-a-Child, Community Education Series, Community Hope, and the “Puppet Power” Program.

Lakeland Center is committed to providing the most effective measurable outcomes to every client served as we develop innovative programs and technology to meet the needs of our clients, community, and field of Equine Assisted Therapies.

Provides services to individuals with disabilities or similar characteristics in order to reach their optimum potential. Helps participants to become contributing members of their community. Promotes community awareness and acceptance of people with differing abilities.

Lakeland Center is committed to providing the most effective measurable outcomes to every client served as we develop innovative programs and technology to meet the needs of our clients, community, and field of Equine Assisted Therapies.

Devoted to the discovery of material and mental needs of the elderly and the provision of means to administer those needs. Three major programs: nutrition, senior transportation, and the storeroom. Other programs include transportation service for seniors and veterans to out-of-county doctor appointments.

PUTNAM COUNTY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

PCYDC prevents delinquency by redirecting vulnerable children and youth toward productive behavior and away from entering the juvenile justice system.

Provides enrichment opportunities for at-risk children in grades 1-5. Organizes a five-week program for children during which they participate in fun learning activities. Provides a nutritionally complete breakfast and lunch.

YMCA OF CLAY COUNTY (GREENCASTLE SUMMER CAMP)

Provides an after-school childcare program and a summer day camp program for school-aged children in Greencastle at Ridpath Elementary School. Encourages the development of healthy lifestyles and helps achieve a healthy and productive quality of life.
