A.L.I.C.E. is an acronym that stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed and paints a realistic picture of the vulnerabilities that many hardworking Hoosiers face right here in Putnam County, IN.
In fact, 39% of Putnam County households are considered ALICE and struggle to meet their most basic needs. Low wages, depleted savings, and an increasing cost of goods are recipees for potential disaster for children and families struggling to make ends meet.
Fortunately, the United Way’s approach is one that looks at the whole picture and works closely with community stakeholders to develop strategies and systems that allow every family in Putnam County to thrive.
